Rescued Moments 1.20.15 | Seattle Cat Photography

Hi friends –

Here are just a few moments to share with you from the other day at the rescue while I was there photographing adoptable kitties. Each time I go in there are new faces, and sometimes there are some ‘older’ faces that I sort of hope not to see again(because I hope they were adopted since I last saw them). And I want the sickly kitties to be better next time I’m in!

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse; I do have to get back to processing a couple of cat photos so I can post them ready for potential adopters. And back to my big business plan. I have new session info to post next…excited to do that!

If you’re not yet following me on Facebook, come on over and see me!!

Rescued Moments 11.4.14 | Seattle Cat Photography

Hello folks –

If you read my posts on here, or follow my Facebook page, you undoubtedly see lots of pretty portraits of beautiful cats….proof is in the pudding that professional images of rescue animals gets adopters in through the doors of rescues and shelters, and gets those animals adopted. I can’t think of a more gratifying way for me to use my photography skills – it’s therapeutic for me –  and I’d encourage every photographer and artist to find a way to give back with their work. But hey, that’s another story…

The ‘story’ I have to share today is one with those images that I don’t expressly take or use for cat adoption but instead for documenting what happens at the rescue when I shoot. On just about every trip to the rescue when I go in to make cat portraits, I take my own behind-the-scenes images, those in-between moments, the photos that capture something extra,  something usually unseen in my usual work that people see. There are so many little moments with cats that are quiet and just so flipping adorable, that I have to share them. I am also transitioning my professional work of pets and family to be documentary-style, so it’s all just naturally falling this way for my photography these days. These are from my most recent visit to Seattle Area Feline Rescue. Enjoy and come back soon!!

Lucky Little Ones | Seattle Cat Photography

I haven’t had the chance yet to post these adorable little ones on the blog yet, so in case you missed them on my Facebook page, here they are…

The kittens were found in and rescued from a parking garage, then taken to Animal Talk Rescue where the awesome crew there will make sure they are nursed to health and found homes soon. There’s nothing like a pile of fuzzy kittens to warm my heart, but it makes me sad to think of those that get dumped and don’t get another chance.

And did you notice the ‘pink lipstick’ mouth of the grey one that just had his medicine?!

PS. A little reminder: Spay & Neuter!! They don’t always end up this lucky…
