What A Difference A Week Makes | Seattle Cat Photography

I want to share this little guy with you EVEN though he got adopted this week.

Meet Roger Rabbit.

I want to show you what a difference a week makes (and what happens when you get the chance to shine when your littermate leaves and you get the space to yourself!).

The first photo was from just a week ago when he was hiding behind his buddy Thomas so much that he was being sat on. Scared at loud noises, but obviously curious, he wasn’t as ready as the bolder Thomas.

The other four images were ones I took THIS week when Roger was showing off for me, interacting so much I didn’t want to say goodbye.

TLC and just a little bit of time often will let kitties come out of their shells and this is the gold we are reaching for.

I didn’t want to say goodbye that day because I knew from the way he had finally come into his own, he would be getting a forever home almost right away. I was right. He was adopted later that day. And I am SO HAPPY for him.

And so starts another year of successful kitty adoptions!!

Wings of Rescue Mission 9.27.18| Seattle Pet Photography

I don’t think I’ve met a Wings of Rescue mission yet that was all cats but this one was cats AND Jackson Galaxy, and I do believe it was the first time he got the chance to fly on one of the flights up from California to us here in Seattle. His report was that the lone puppy that was on board was responsible for any stinkiness, he did nod off for a second, and it was clear weather all the way up on their trip.

I love meeting these flights, knowing that all the animals are getting a second chance up here, that so many people have come together to make it happen…it’s really quite amazing. Those worried little faces in those crates under the wing of the plane on the runway will soon find homes up here by way of several different rescues; naturally since I’m out there taking photos for Seattle Area Feline Rescue, we picked up six kitties to take back to the North end in ‘William’ (that’s the name of our stylish van).

Get your 2018 Cat Calendar! | Seattle Cat Photography

It’s that time!! I’m so excited to say that I’ve finished designing the 2018 calendar for Seattle Area Feline Rescue and it’s ready to go! It’s always so hard for me to narrow down all the photos that I take in the year of all the rescue kitties and choose JUST twelve for it, but I eventually decided (no small feat).

38471966281_5df34b7ced_o.pngSo how do I choose?

First of all, I usually choose some of my favorite photos and kitties – they represent me, after all! And I want everyone to be seeing beautiful images all year long. Secondly, I try to put cats in the calendar that have awesome rescue stories, since we get so many kitties that come through with memorable tales that are hard to forget. It’s also so important to what we do at our rescue, since we take in so many difficult cases and it’s always so wonderful when those cats get their forever homes. Thirdly, I try to show a variety of the kind of cases and cats that come through our doors: we get everything from bottle babies to seniors, from cats who are highly special-needs cases to ones that would seem to be adoptable at first sight. We get our kitties from all over: Eastern WA, California, Hawaii, and this year, from the floods of Texas and the wildfires of California, but I can’t all of them in; alone I do my ‘special photos’ of hundreds, but we adopt out over a thousand a year (which is a lot for a small rescue). I’m so proud!

And the cover goes to…

DIETZ.

This kitty was the lucky bidder (well, his mama was) at our annual benefit in September for a chance to be on the cover of the calendar, so I went over to his house to get his photos…the above were some outtakes. Stealing catnip, enjoying a lot of catnip, cleaning himself… But his cover image is VERY handsome. He will be very pleased.

Details: THE CALENDAR is 11″ x 17″ wire-bound, lots of room to write, and I included2018 preview lots of cool cat holidays. The paper stock is a smooth satin finish that is nice to write on, and of course, has 13 glorious kitties for you to gaze upon.

Cat Calendar ON SALE NOW! | Seattle Cat Photography

UPDATE: THE CALENDARS ARE SOLD OUT AT THE RESCUE.  If you would like to order a calendar, contact me directly by emailing me! katherine.moore.photo@gmail.com

I’m just so excited to share this with you!! After another year of photographing hundredscover-2-huey-louie of cats for Seattle Area Feline Rescue, I’ve designed another calendar for the following year, and the 2017 SAFe Rescue Cat Calendar is now on sale to benefit the cats. I put a quick poll on my Facebook page that led to a gallery to get some quick input to help narrow my shortlist, but boy, it is HARD to narrow down the images. This year, 16 cats and kittens show their face in and on the calendar; I honestly wish I could show you ALL the cats I have images of but even those wouldn’t make it into a cat-a-day calendar. But they’re ALL beautiful!

calendar-square-collageBest part: YOU get to look at some of the beautiful cats that I photographed last year, by having a copy of the calendar in your home, when you purchase one, so YOU MUST. And it’s not a flimsy cheapo calendar. NOPE! It’s an 11 x 17 inch wire-bound calendar, on satin-paper stock (smooth to write on), with boxes that give you ample room to write your info on each day, and I included lots of cool pet holidays on the calendar (so you don’t forget important things like ‘Hug Your Cat Day’). And NEW this year: rescue stories and info about the cats I included!

I tried to balance out some of my favorite and YOUR favorite images with some of the most remarkable rescue stories of the year, as well as present a good selection of the kinds of kitties that come through the rescue doors. It’s so hard to pick though. And with the ones that didn’t make it in the calendar, soon I’m going to make prints and cards available. I sincerely appreciate the love for these sweet faces. It’s also heartwarming to hear from people who adopted these cats and remember these cats. They’re all so special, and I love hearing from anyone and everyone. I put so much work and soul into this, I really hope you love it too.

And the superstar cat at the end of the calendar, who had her photo taken in her newbindi-1_resize home, is Bindi the blind kitty. You will have to get the calendar to see her new photo, looking entirely blissful! She is so happy now! Here she is way back when I first met her, before she had her two eye surgeries, and before she found her forever home.

Once the calendars arrive at the rescue, the options are to have one mailed to you, or if you are local to Seattle, you can pick one up. I am pondering adding in a Holiday print of the cats for people. Maybe for the first 25 orders or those who come to the rescue to pick up their calendar. What do you think, friends?Calendars will be hot off the press on December 23rd in a LIMITED BATCH, so pay for your pre-order now!

**PLEASE USE THIS DIRECT LINK TO PURCHASE A CALENDAR (the online order form) OR GO to the Seattle Area Feline Rescue website TO DO SO.**

Well, on that note, I hope you get your calendar, and I hope the New Year ahead is a happy, healthy,  and warm-cat (and dog) -filled one!
